John Benitz is a creative entrepreneur, storyteller, and conservation advocate whose work is shaped by curiosity,
a love of nature, and a belief in the power of connecting people with place. Throughout his career, he has founded
and led international businesses in private equity and ventures, including Libertas Land and Casa Libertas.

As Co-Founder and Board Chair of Sonoma Coast Alliance, John brings his entrepreneurial drive and storytelling
perspective to a place with which his family has longstanding ties. His relationships with the Sonoma Coast and
the Kashaya community, together with his commitment to stewardship and cultural understanding, inform
his work to deepen connections among people, land and sea, and help shape a thriving future for the Sonoma Coast.
